Size & Finish
This photograph was taken during one of a number of family outings to the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, which has its headwaters in the area around Stanley, Idaho. I joined my parents twice in navigating down this river which typically lasted three days and offered some of the best trout fishing to be found anywhere in the region.

On one early May trip, we encountered unseasonably cold temperatures that resulted with the bucket holding the fish frozen solid. The related human hardships of the journey tested Mom’s patience to the extent that she refused to do a repeat performance until Dad figured out a way to provide her with hot water on demand and the services of a good hairdresser
