During the years succeeding my parent’s marriage, Dad learned a great deal about composition from Mom, whose keen eye for fine aesthetics was second to none. She may well have been standing at his side as he turned his lens toward this provocative architectural scene taken during one of their many trips to Acapulco.
The urns lining the steps and the mirror like shadows cast against the opposing wall convey Dad’s keen understanding of the variables of timing and light in transforming an ordinary scene into a fine arts photograph.
